Position Summary:

As a beertender with 22 Northmen Brewing Co., you play a pivotal role in the experience that sets us apart as a top-notch destination brewery. Roles and responsibilities include deliveringFryktløs (Fearless)customer service with an inclusive, welcoming and positive attitude.Our beertenders are excited to share all aspects of the brewing experience with patrons – from what makes each of our beer selections unique – where the style originated, different malts used, hop types and yeast characteristics, to suggestive selling based on customer preferences, while catering to the level of beer knowledge our patrons have – from novice to beer aficionado.You will be able to recommend the perfect beer by truly listening and interacting with patrons.This will include pairing the right brew with food options.This job will also require you to have initiative, high energy and excellent communication skills with management, patrons and staff.You must also excel at working in a fast-paced environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

-Create a FUN atmosphere for our patrons!

-Possess the ability to multi-task and maintain composure during busy times.

-Prepare taproom for opening and closing, including various cleaning responsibilities.

-Serve and educate patrons about each beer style – from origin, to hops, malts and yeasts used that make each style unique, while catering to their level of knowledge regarding craft beer.

-Drive additional sales through suggestive selling.

-Successfully ring sales on POS system and run credit cards.

-Stock merchandise and supplies as needed.

-Lead a great experience through maintaining a spotless bar and seating area by serving clean glassware, clearing dishware and glasses, and clearing tables.

-Running dishwasher for glassware.

-Check IDs and know how to make a legal sale; maintain a safe and fun environment for patrons and others through responsible serving.

-Represent the company, brand and story with enthusiasm and professionalism everywhere.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

-Must be 21 years of age

-Customer service and hospitality experience preferred

-Passion for craft beer and willingness to learn more and become an expert on each style we serve

-Willing to work as part of a team

-Available to work at least two weekends a month

-You must be able to work two out of the three summer holiday weekends: Memorial weekend, 4thof July weekend and Labor Day weekend.

-Other critical skills include organization, problem solving, multi-tasking, and effective execution of tasks in a timely manner

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, you will be required to stand, walk, reach, climb or balance on stairs and ladders, stoop and kneel. You will also be required to lift and/or move 50 lbs. by yourself and must be able to safely lift and/or move heavier objects, such as kegs which weigh over 100 lbs. with assistance from another individual.

Training

-Training will be provided to tasting room staff to ensure you know and understand expectations of you in your position.

-All brewery staff must attend mandatory trainings at the brewery.
