As a Packaging Specialist with Beaver Island Brewing Company, you will not only have the opportunity to greatly expand your beer knowledge, but also have the chance to work in a challenging yet rewarding work environment. You'll be working in a brand new brewery and operating state of the art packaging equipment. The role of the packaging specialist is to assist and support the bottling, canning and kegging process of the brewery.These are the final steps before product goes into distribution, so attention to detail is an absolute must.
This is a full-time hourly position. Compensation is $13.00-$15.00 per hour. As a Packaging Specialist you will also be eligible for paid time off, retirement benefits, discounts on Beaver Island gear, and a beer stipend.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and push 150 lbs

Must be able to adapt to change quickly
Operate packaging on our Wild Goose 250 Canning Line and as well as our IDD Mini King Keg Washer and Filler. You will be trained and working in tandem with other experienced brewers and production staff within the Beaver Island crew.
Preparing the necessary loops needed to package finished beer from the brite tanks in the cellar to the packaging floor. You will be responsible to ensure the product is packaged, safely, gently, and within the strict guidelines of packaging as deemed by our Quality Control and Assurance team. This includes but is not limited to; dissolved oxygen levels, carbonation levels, proper fill heights, monitoring seam specifications, and more.
Will be responsible for the maintenance, cleaning and sanitation of packaging equipment
Training will take place for troubleshooting issues that arise. You’ll need to be able to identify the issue and fix it quickly on the fly.
Setting up and organizing proper can and keg counts needed for the days packaging mix, usually a day ahead of time.
Packaging 1/6 BBL, ¼ BBL and 1/2 BBL kegs
Proper and detailed record keeping is a must.
Must be able to maintain a clean, sanitized and organized brewery environment at all times.
Other related brewery tasks will also need to be performed. Flexibility is key
Prior experience on a Wild Goose Canning Line or other similar line is strongly preferred.
Dedication to learning, improving, and contributing to a dynamic and growing team.
Strong mechanical aptitude - troubleshooting ability under pressure
Ability to work long and varied hours
Ability to multitask and work under pressure and professionally under very time sensitive procedures
Ability to operate heavy equipment (forklift / pallet jack etc)
Meticulous attention to detail
