Salary: $50,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year

Role Mission: To be the player-coach that leads our start up hop farming team to excellence and increase yields year-over-year. Additionally to co-create a culture of safety and professionalism with the CEO and Agronomist.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage and hire one seasonal farm technician

  • Manage and hire Spring and Harvest work crews via H2A Visa Program

  • Manage and complete tillage, weed control, spraying, planting, and field trellis maintenance

  • Maintain operating status and cleanliness of field, irrigation and harvest equipment and farm fields and facilities

  • Oversee post-harvest processing

  • This is a salaried farm manager role. Farming often demands work is done whenever weather allows. It’s also seasonal. Expect between 40 and 70 hours a week throughout the growing season (March - October) and 40 hours a week during the off season.

Characteristics and Experience


  • Fixer/tinkerer; skilled in the assessment and fixing of problems with equipment

  • Systems minded; able to see big picture and how all its components work together

  • Detail oriented; understands the importance of precision and able to communicate this importance to staff

  • Accountability focused; comfortable assessing progress and confronting slow, low quality work while also being willing to praise and reward fast, high quality work.

  • Safety-first mindset; appreciation for safety standards and safe work practices

Mandatory Proficiencies

  • Written and verbal English language

  • Ability to locate within 30 minutes of the farm

  • Valid US Driver’s License

Physical Demands

  • Able to lift heavy objects (60+ lbs)

  • Able to work in adverse outdoor conditions including heat, humidity, rain, cold, etc.

  • Able to work on feet for long days

  • Able to handle farm equipment

Desired Experience

  • Working with non-English speaking team members

  • Operating a hop farm or speciality orchard

  • Team management

  • Equipment maintenance and repair

  • Operating hop harvest equipment: Picking, drying, pelletizing

  • Regulatory compliance

  • Storing, handling, mixing, and applying chemicals and fertilizers

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, or related field

  • Pesticide applicator’s license

  • CDL
